I have a DSM 520 with a Seagate 250GB USB drive connected and use it to play music files without a computer. It works fine, the menu allows you to scroll through your folders (my are arranged by artist/album/songs). The rub is that you can only play one album at a time, therefore you have to keep going back a selecting a new album at the end of each one.

My question...Is there anyway to execute a playlist file directly from the USB drive. I have tried putting a playlist file in a folder but when I open the folder I get the message "No content".

i wonder if the unit supports window bat files? you could specify each file in a list and have it run down the list. Just an idea.
