My mother just finished building a vacation house way up in the mountains of NH. She bought a new 36" Samsung LCD, but she has essentially no Television providers. Her house is significantly remote enough to not be serviced by the local cable company, and there are too many trees for Dish.

I have suggested she look into a slingbox, which she is now interested in, however, she doesn't have a high speed internet source at the vacation house (she does at her main house).

She is now looking into getting a wireless aircard from Verizon (which does service the area), however, I am not sure there will be enough bandwidth for this to work; at least not without severely reducing the quality of the image.

Can anyone comment on this? Has anyone tried it?

You should look into RV centric groups to post your question. Fulltimer RV'ers deal with this issue allt he time. There are Yahoo groups with internet with cell phones, internet with satellite, internet with data cards, etc that have plenty of ideas for you... Al

Call the tech support ppl over at Slingbox and run it past them. They were pretty helpful when I had questions about my unit.

I travel a lot for business and access my slingbox via a VZAccess card. When I am in an area with 4 bars I am extremely pleased with the results, but anything less than a full signal and she may be disappointed.
