PF7 Picture Frame Antenna

does anyone own this or know anyone who does.

I thought digital TV was going to be a good thing but what i reading seams not to be. All this directing antennas and distance from transmitting towers stuff seams like it's going to cause major trouble. The government said they will buy digital decoder boxes for the switch over but what about the antennas is seams are also needed. Figures the government does everything half A again.

In most cases if someone is already receiving analog OTA, the same antenna will work for digital OTA. These are the people that will be buying the SD STBs to keep their TV's from going obsolete. Anyone that is currently using cable or sat for their SD locals won't need a SD ATSC tuner or antenna to keep receiving them.

Now if you want to get your digital locals in HD and cable or sat doesn't carry them, then you'll need the proper antenna and HD capable ATSC tuner.

As for the picture frame antenna, not knowing your reception requirements makes it impossible to recommend. What's your TVFool.com results?

No antenna, despite how fancy a design or ridiculously high cost, has yet to overcome the laws of physics. :)

i live long island ny 11001 and it seams like ever since everyone around me went to direct tv and now FIOS our tv receprion has gotten worse. Or it could mean the old Radio Shack antenna is failing or having 3 tv connections pluged into the line is making problems but only 1 is in use. I do have a officel spliter but it uses 300 ohm cable like the atenna. I'm all confused with this switch over stuff and my sister bought me an Emerson 19" Widescreen LCD HDTV, SLC195EM8 on black friday for $198.00 from walmart.

If your antenna is in good condition, consider upgrading to RG-6 and removing the extra splits off you don't need. If the antenna seems to be beyond use, all of your digital OTA stations are UHF, consider something like a ChannelMaster 4221.

the cable i understand but is that antenna for HD? We are going to need a splitter for plugging in around 5 TVs so I'm guessing we will need some kind of amplifier to strengthen the single or does digital change that.

There is no such thing as an HD or digital antenna, the new digital channels are broadcast in the same VHF/UHF frequencies the analog channels are.

Now feeding 5 TV's you may need a powered distribution amp to lower loss of signal.
