I've beat this horse to death to the point my wife thinks I'm a nut..

I'm trying to break into the HDTV world but just can't get there probably due to my over analysis. Not a videophile, just looking for the best HD experience I can afford.

I've spent the past 2 weeks reading all I can and shopping locally and online for suitable plasma for my a family, no gaming, kids have their own area upstairs, mainly HD via Direct TV w/ HD DVD. I was ready to make a purchase of either the Samsung 5054 or the Panny 75u but got cold feet. Here's why, while I know IR/burn in is not a common now, I'm aware care still needs to be taken. That said, I don't believe I can trust my kids/wife to understand the issue and I don't know if I'm up for worrying about it. Kids have a habit of pausing what ever their watching and forgetting to come back. Am I worrying to much about this????

Sooooooo, I've moved my search to the LCD area. Really like the 47" philips PFL7422d/37 and reading about the Samsung 4661. My main issue here is blur caused by fast action. I watch alot of sports and trails/motion blur if obvious would drive me insane. Will this be an issue for a average tv watcher?

So here I am, still stuck w/ a 10 yr old Sony and really no closer to making a decision than I was 2 weeks ago....

Without getting into the Plasma vs. lcd debate, Which would make a better family TV, no gaming involved, alot of HD sports and kids. All are close in price.

Go for the Panny, I have one and Consumer Reports says it has the best image quality. Oct. 07 review.
