I just ordered an x-sub and it has a frequency range of 28Hz - 150Hz. I am trying to find speakers that will blend will with this range.
I have heard that if your speakers cannot go low enough then the sub has to play at higher frequencies, which leads to it giving its position away and makes for much less enjoyable listening. This is compared to when the speakers blend well and it sounds like you are getting a general sense of bass rather than all the bass localized at the sub.
Right now I am comparing the Dana 630 with x-ls Encore. The x-ls are supposed to be able to go quite a bit lower. I've heard anywhere from 60-80hz. I've heard the Dana 630's need 80-100hz crossover. So I guess my question is, will the Dana's be able to blend with the x-sub or will I get the ugly effect I mentioned above? Or will it not matter that much and both will blend fine, with the x-ls encore perhaps blending better, because it can go lower?
I am in a 9feet by 12 feet room if that matters.
Thanks
