Hi everyone.

I recently won a new TV... it's a 42" Panasonic Plasma TV... model number TH-42PH10UKA. It's a professional tv... technically it's a monitor, since there is no built in TV tuner. It has two HDMI inputs, one component, one PC in, and one serial port.

I am about to subscribe to an HD cable service. The cable box is a Motorola DCT 6200 (with Shaw, for all you Canadians out there). To see the back of the cable box, google "motorola dct 6200" and click on the first link... skip ahead to page 15. (Sorry the site won't let me post the URL.)

I'm just wondering if anyone can pls tell me if this is correct:

Based on the diagram, to connect the cable box to the TV, it will have to be DVI to HDMI... right? and the cable box will act as the tuner because my tv doesn't have one, right? or will I need something else to act as a tv tuner?

Sorry if it's a stupid question... I just want to make sure everything will work out before I buy the cable box.

Yes, a DVI to HDMI cable will work. However, you should wait until you actually get the cable box to verify the connector.
