Hi

Wonder if anyone can help me with a problem with the Zioncom HV0103.

I bought a new one, installed a hard drive in it and turned it on. The player searches for the hard drive it and finds it okay, then tried to find a network, which it fails to do and ends up staying on the network screen.

When I plug it into my laptop via usb, the tv screen just goes blank until I unplug it again.

I have activated sharing on my pc and changed the ip address to ‘static’.

The ip address on the media player is 192.168.000.254. This seems to be its standard one.

I can’t seem to find an IP address on my pc, when I typed in ipconfig it came up with 81.178.246.218 but I think this is for my modem as opposed to the pc.

When plugged in, the PC shows the hard drive when you look at it via the device manager (and says its working correctly) but it doesn’t show on ‘my computer’ as an accessible drive.

All I want to do is be able to transfer files from my pc to the media drive, so it can play them - should be simple enough but I am at my wits end.

Do I need to format the hard drive via the media player? If so, I can’t find the option for this anywhere in the setup menu?

If anyone owns one of these, I would really appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks!

Brad

This is the same machine as the IPTime Playtime N35, which is Korean.
According the the Korean user guide, the HDD needs formatting via your PC before it can be used.
Try connecting the HV0103 by USB and then formatting the HDD.
