Recently bought a onkyo 505 and hooked up everything thru a/v receiver via hdmi cables and out to tv via hdmi cable. (one hdmi connection on back of tv) I have a Motorola HD dual DVR and a 42 pioneer plasma tv. I sometimes get a green screen and there is nothing I can do except turn off cable box and hope it goes away. I have double checked all hdmi connections and think they are fine. I also have some problems w/ comcast on demand. Not all the time but problems enough that it is aggraviating.

Cable box has firmware 16.20

Any help would be great. Thanks

If you didn't change anything and this is an intermittent issue call your cable company!!

For starters, bypass the Onkyo and plug directly from the STB into the TV, by doing this you have eliminated the Onkyo (if it still occurs). If it does not occur I would look at the Onkyo closer.
If you still see the problem, next I would try the other cable (HDMI) from the STB to the TV. Repeat the same test. this will eliminate the cables (if it still occurs).
I would do the second test regardless of the outcome of the first test this can point to a bad cable.

Let me know what happens after you do these things.

Alright , update exchanged my cable box and got a new one but looks like I still once in awhile get the green screen, I have ruled out the a/v because I have cable box right to tv via hdmi.

Any chance it is the tv or hdmi cable? Thanks

Unfortunately, the mechanicals of the HDMI cable are not the greatest. Make SURE that all of your cables are firmly seated....

Did you try the second cable HDMI from STB to TV?
If so what were the results?
With either cable in place wiggle, bend it reseat it and look for any changes.

Really Fustrating, Happens Basically Every Other Time I Change Tv Stations To A Hd Channel. Then I Have To Turn Off Cable Box And Turn Back On And It Works. Usually Just Hd Channels But Sd Once In Awhile
