Newbie here and have enjoyed reading through the forum but i still cant decide. Looking at the Sony46s3000 lcd or samsung5064plasma. Viewing distance is 7-12 ft and will be watching alot of sport programming and hd and sd viewing also a little (20%) gaming. Feel free to recommend any other units. Thanks

So what did you buy?

Well, i ended up with a 46 xbr5 and i must say i am pleased so far. SD channels are very good and HD is awesome. Noticed a little blur during a couple of the nfl games yesterday but nothing major at all. But im still wondering if i should try the pro950 but i dont know if it could be much better. I would have to go with a 42 in the pio to stay around the same price.I have yet to calibrate the xbr5.
