Not sure if anybody ran into this. I am connecting my TWC 8300HDC to my TH-50PZ700u TV using HDMI, but every time I switch a channel, for example from 720p channel to 1080p channel, the picture refreshes twice before it gets displayed in the right format, is this normal?

This happens whenever I switch between two channels of different formats, if the channels are the same, for example 1080i to 1080i then I don't have any problem.

What can cause this? My TV is new, is this problem with the DVR or the TV.

I had the same problem I switched to component cables and then set the resolution to 1080i and removed the options for anything else

Thanks edwarto, I will try this when I get home. So the refresh is caused by the TV or the DVR?

I wonder if you have also experienced this, using HDMI with certain channels I see a gray thin line on the top of the screen, my friend told me that with HDMI the tv will display every single pixel and with component I shouldn't see this.
