I just bought a TH-50PX75U (panny 50" plasma) and need to mount it in a recessed part of the wall. I need an articulating wall mount that will allow me to pull the plasma out at least 10", but will be at least 3.5" when retracted. This will allow me to mount the plasma (since I only have about 3/4" clearance around the outside of the plasma in the recess, I need to extend the arm out to mount), keep the plasma pulled out for ventilation when watching the plasma, and push the plasma in flush so I can drop my projector screen in front of the plasma. I have found two reasonable mounts so far: the Lighting L5D mount at mountsdirect and the Peerless SP850-UNLP-GB HG. Does anybody have any experience with either of these mounts or have any other suggestions for mounts that will work in my situation. I really need to get a mount ASAP as the plasma is just sitting in my basement waiting to be mounted. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sanus VMDD26 (3.45" when fully-compressed, and 25.76" when fully-extended), or on a 50", you may be able to get away with the VMAA26 (3.40" when fully-compressed, and 25.91" when fully-extended). Or, VMAA18 (3.41" when fully-compressed, and 19.90" when fully-extended). I'm assuming you've already accounted for the depth of the set itself.

Good luck!

P.S. FWIW, I use the VMDD26 on a 58PZ700U and it works wonderfully.

Could you build the back of your recess out? so you have less than 10". that would give you more options, and it would be pretty easy.
