I recently purchased a sharp aquos 52in, an upconvert dvd player, a harmon kardon 146 avr, and polk 5.1 surround sound speakers, and a HD cable box... i am so confused of which component gets plugged into what....not sure if they all must run into the avr or the cable box or the tv...

i want it all to run on hdmi cables... here are the ports available

TV- 2 hdmi ports
dvd-1 port
cable box-1 port
harmon kardon avr 146- 2 hmdi "in" ports and 1 "out" port

now i just realized that the HK avr doesnt upconvert anything, so is it safe to assume that it will simply pass and hold the HD singnals that go through it?

and how should i be connecting everything...lord i know this is confusing to me...i am just hoping some expert will look at this and say no problem, here are your answers...please contact me with any help you may have or if you need further info from me to give an answer....

p.s. right now I only have the TV and the cable box connected though hdmi cable. i want to see how many more cables i need before i buy them
