Our tube tv has been on life support for several years now. The wife is nagging me to get her another set and throw out that the old Sony. If it was me, i would buy some half decent tube set until 120 hz and true native 1080p is standardized in all tv sets. Personally, I would prefer a 40+ plasma set.

Any how, I was looking today briefly at the Sony KDL32M3000 and the Sharp Aquos 6 ms LC-32D62U. I didnt see the 120 hz KDL32XBR4 on display but the store has it. I think this may be a better one than the KDL32M3000 since it is 120 hz. I really preferred the softness and natural skin tones of the Sony while, in theory the 6 ms and higher resolution of the Sharp may be better. I saw a Panasonic 700 there and I was really disappointed. The Samsung was ok but just that, ok.

Overall, it's like the Sony is "talking to me". However, I was not able to compare response times on any of the sets since ther was no action being displayed.

Also, it doesn't appear that our cable company, Shaw is also broadcasting anything above 720. We hope to keep this tv for many years, say 4 or 5 minimum. I got the wife nagging me that she wants a new tv for Christmas but right now, there are some sales on on all the sets I mentioned above except the XBR which seem to be selling at MSRP.

I am really confused on which set is is better and response times more noticable? Which set delivers the most bang for the buck?
