Hey all,
I'm looking for some cheap yet decent quality gaming speakers. I often take my 360 and Wii to parties and I've been dragging around an old amp and pair of bookshelf speakers. I'd rather pick up a cheap set of portable speakers ($40 or less) that can get loud enough to actually hear when sitting 15' away.
Any recommendations?
Thanks all,
Russell

What's wrong with just plugging the audio into the person's TV? Chances are it'll be better then anything you get for $40.

right,
Forgot to mention that I usually bring my projector and don't have access to any TV speakers.

I'd look at some of the Logitech or Creative 2.1 computer speaker systems. You might find a good fit there. Very small, good volume. I game on a projector also, but it's ceiling mounted so I just make everyone come to me! :) Kudos to you for sharing your PJ for games on the go.

Mark,
That's a very good idea! I remeber I was going to use my pc speakers last time but they're one of the big 5.1 systems that require all the speakers be plugged into the sub and I didn't feel like moving all that stuff around to get to them. I'm sure I can find some decent 2 speaker setups for less than $40.
I love taking my projector on the go. If nothing else, I get to use a big screen while my buddy has to squint at his 42" tv. Way better sniping when you're playing on a 8 to 10' wide screen :)

I actually have the 5.1 version of that exact setup and it does have decent sound for the $$$. However, I needed to pick it up today so I just bought some CHEEEEEEAP GE speakers to use for now. I'm going to save up a bit and build a decent set of 2.1 speakers for the future :)
