I currently have DTV with a DTV-Tivo and Hughes receiver. These feed video and audio to a ChannelPlus modulator for the 5 TV's we have in the house. Having a DVR and a receiver allows us to watch two channels at the same time in different rooms. The 4 channel modulator puts the receiver on 25 and the DVR on 27.

I have just added a new Sony XBR4 in the main room and am planning to upgrade my DTV to HD DVR and Receiver. I do not plan to purchase 4 more TV's at this time for the other rooms to use HD.

Now, my question is, do the HD receivers allow non-HD TV's to view the SD channels? Will the HD boxes output SD on the video jacks for my modulator?

Yes, all outputs are active all of the time. Your non-HD TVs will get the HD channels also with black bars on the side. SD channels will be normal.
