Playback on PC not possible unless it's hacked somehow. ncted 12-14-07, 04:31 PM Once the video is archived on to the external USB HD what software do I need to move it to my PC and archive on to a DVD ? The only way to archive to DVD from the 722 is a DVD-Recorder or a video capture card on your PC. That is, unless you are very talented at writing software. They went out of their way to protect the content producers. The alternative is we pay A LOT more for service. Of course that would drive customers away, so we have this lame compromise. Ted scb175 03-12-08, 04:29 PM to follow up on this. I just got my 722 today and noticed the usb in the front. Thanks to a search on these forums, i found this post. However, my questions works in the opposite direction. Are we able to use a USB thumb drive with .mpg files transfered from PC and use/view that on the 722 receiver? If so, that would be great! primetimeguy 03-12-08, 05:30 PM to follow up on this. I just got my 722 today and noticed the usb in the front. Thanks to a search on these forums, i found this post. Can you only move previously recorded programs to the USB HD? Is playback from the HD jerky/choppy? Will the DVR automatically start using the USB HD once the internal is full? ncted 12-04-08, 12:21 PM does anyone have experience w/ this feature? Yes, you can only move previously recorded programs to the USB HD. Playback is not jerky at all, however, fast-forwarding and rewinding are a little less fluid. The DVR will not start using the USB HD once the internal drive is full. You have to actively manage it. Think of this as an archive to put stuff you want to keep or at least keep until later. Ted |
