The brick for my CORE Xbox 360 died... My friend has a brick he will let me use but there are differences in these two.
My core has a output of 175w andmy friend's brick (comes from a premium box) has an output of 205w.
Dif model numbers are HP-AW175EW3 (175w, 12V - 14.2A) and HP-AW205EW3 (205w, 12V - 16.5A).
Will the new brick be too much power for my core 360? I dont understand why there are two different ones...
The old 203 W power logs and the newer 175 W power logs use entirely different connecters to plug into the back of the 360. You can't use your friend's.

I found a very good (new) replacement for mine on ebay for about $55 including shipping. walmart has them for $99.
Id prob never buy another power brick... how crazy is that... $99? That means the xbox alone must only be worth like $170 and you know thats BS.
Quick another question!! Will the HARD DRIVE from my friend's premium 360 work on my core 360? I'll have to get a power supply but oh well.

You can use it, you will just have to cut a notch into your power cable to get it to fit. I have done it countless times. You can also buy them used for around $35 if you shop hard.
Yes the HDD's are interchangeable.
Any little ac adaptor will work for any power brick as well though, right? (I'm talking about the cord going from the brick to the wall)

They use the standard PC type power cord, yes.

But you will have to do some whittling since they are shaped differently. At least it is on mine.
