Are most of you DTV HR20 users satisfied with its performance? I've heard about sound/video drops, cut-off recorded programs etc., so I'm a little concerned.
I need the 20 and not the 21 b/c I want OTA tuning/recording capability.
And what is the best (least problematic) exact HR20 model to get?
Thanks in advance.
The 20s are both the same as far as failure rate. If you get a good one fine, if you get a bad one have them replace it. The hard part will be finding a 20, D* would probably send you a 21. How concerned are you? I don't have any audio or video drops except for the ones caused by the broadcaster and the cut off programs are guide problems. You can pad the time on your recordings to avoid them. But if you need to have the "perfect" recorder the HR20 isn't it.

I've had an HR20-700 (bedroom) since last year and an HR20-100 (HT) for about six months. I have found them to be no better nor no worse than the HR10-250 I had been using.
Issues with reception are ususally the fault of the broadcast (I check for threads complaining about lip-synch issues, etc).

Thanks for the info. As long as they're decent. Even Dish's vaunted DVR has a HDMI problem I've read.
