I purchased the add-on and don't exactly remember if I downloaded the update for it or not. Let's assume I did only b/c everytime the system has prompted me that I need an update I have complied and downloaded it. My problem is when I try to play a movie it gives me an error message stating the disc is unplayable and a message pops up on the right hand said saying: "Can't read this disc. If this is a game, CD, or data disc, place it in your Xbox 360 disc tray."
The odd thing is it will play King Kong (which came w/the player) flawlessly. The only difference I can see b/n that disc and the others I've tried playing is it's only a one-sided disc. All the rest are the type where one side is HDDVD and the other is regular DVD. If I flip the disc over to the regular side and put it in, it plays with no problems. Do you think I got a faulty add-on and need to contact support to send it in or is it something simple I'm missing? I've tried to get it to prompt me for the update thinking that might be the cause, but it doesn't do that when I put anything in it. Is there a way to download the update without having the console prompt me to do it? I went into my memory setting for the HDDVD player as well and deleted the one item there, how do I delete the cache from my console and is that necessary?
The movies I've had problems with are:
Ocean's Thirteen, The Departed, Bourne Ultimatum, Blades of Glory, Chuck and Larry, and Transformers (I finally got it to work after restarting a few times, ejecting and putting back in a few more times).
The only movies it has worked perfectly so far on are King Kong and Flags of our Fathers.
Thanks for the help!!!
