I searched the forums and the net.
I have a logitech 5.1 surround sound system for my computer, i spilled tea on it earlier this year, and the outputs for the 2 left channels stopped working, so i took this as a sign to buy a nice system for my new Tv.
I've got a pioneer vsx-917v
Now here is my question, my sub uses 3 stereo jack ins,its designed to be used with a analog out surround card, 2 channels on each. I've got a splitter to turn one stereo jack into 2 rcas.
Now i have the sub hooked up through the splitter to the preout on the reciever.
I can hear the bass, but only barely, and only if i turn the volume to max on the sub.
Is the preout not strong enough for the sub to be useful? I could amp the signal further by sending optical from receiver into computer sound card, then using the analog stereo jacks to connect back to sub, but that seems like so much freaking work.
I've played around with receiver settings, but didn't get much to happen.
A few people on forums seemed to have similar problems, but i couldn't find any answers, im hoping someone here will have an idea.
The sub still works perfectly fine if hooked into a computer, as opposed to the receiver, even with the computers volume almost off, if i jack the sub up, its loud.
Any thoughts?
