I have never had a powered sub and just set up my surround system and now need a sub. I am thinking about getting the 12 inch Dayton for 140. Are the bic or x sub worth the 60-80 dollars over the Dayton. My room is an odd shape and pretty small if that helps. Thanks in advance.

I've done a direct comparison between the Bic H-100 and the Dayton 120 and the answer is YES, well worth the difference in price. Haven't personally heard the X-sub but it gets great reviews at the price point as well although imo the larger driver of the Bic should give a little better HT performance.

Thanks a lot for the quick response. What are the main differences between the two. I just want to make sure I make the right decision because 100 bucks is a lot to me.

I recommend the Dayton but only if you are primarily using it for HT use...Music use is a tad boomy...Personally I don't think it is worth the difference in price...I have had both and I returned the Bic and kept the Dayton... Block one of the ports and keep it at least 6 inches away from the wall and you'll love it...$138 + free ship is the most bang for the buck in a budget sub you will find...

Well I never listen to music and that 100 dollars would be really good to invest into hd dvd and blu ray which I dont have yet so I think im going for the Dayton, unless someone can sway me back. It just seems like a great deal.
