Does anybody know a source for CL2 rated TOSLink cable? I checked Monoprice ... the best they have is the "premium" kind. But I'd rather it'd say "CL2 Rated" right on there.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Optical has 2 rating that it needs to qualify for inwall use... OFNG/OFN or OFCG/OFC Optical Fiber Non-Conductive General Optical Fiver Conductive General This means they can be used anywhere except for Risers, Plenum or anywhere that environmental air passes. Either of those two works for inwall use. asincero 12-19-07, 09:47 AM since no one has gave you an answer :) Optical does not fall under CL categories as it is not low voltage or any voltage for that matter. Because, I did more Googling after I made that post and I finally came across a supplier that claimed CL2 rating for their TOSLink cables. Of course, it was about $40 for 23feet. I think Monoprice has 25feet for $5.00. What about S/Video? I know thats not audio related, but since I'm on the subject... Figgie 12-20-07, 02:26 PM Awesome. I know thats not audio related, but since I'm on the subject... simple rule of thumb, if the wire is to carry an electrical signal (Low voltage), the CL categories are applicable to them. If it is optical the the OF catagories apply to it. :) SteveBalto 04-04-08, 08:31 PM I had the same question about the Monoprice premium TosLink cable...Their Tech said it wasn't rated for in-wall but he didnt mention the NEC rating for fiber. So did the packaging or cable labeling state is was OFN or OFC? Thanks |
