What is the recommended time limit to have the projector on? Is it a problem to have it on for six hours straight?

The best is to never turn it off. The damage to the bulb occurs when the bulb is turned ON. The initial electric spike is almost 2x greater then the steady-state in run mode.

I run mine 8-12 hours a day...EVERYDAY! 4000+ hours, one re-calibration (around 1200 hours) and the picture still POPS off the screen.

Just think of this...how often does a light bulb burn out while you are using it? Answer: Most likely never. It's going to blow when the light is turned on.

Of course, there are other factors...and the biggest one is environment, that includes; heat, humdity, and vibration. Keep the fan and the projector clean, limit high humidity areas like outdoors, and vibrations to the minimum.

I try to turn it on no more than 2 times a day. I wouldn't run it more than 8 hours though. Not so much for the bulb, but the hardware itself from the heat buildup.... plus it is bad for the environment.
