i got my buttkickers with the couch install kit yesterday. i was wondering what setting should i use for the amp. high pass, low pass and crossover settings? i only use this room for movies. what setting are you guys using. i am also having some install issues but i may have that figured out.

If you want them to operate at the same freq as your sub just split the sub out on the receiver. If you want a lower freq than that then use the low pass on the BKA amp.

i have the BKA-1000 running off my sub out. i wanted to know what setting to use on the amp. i have the low filter off and the high on. my high cuttoff frequency is set to 45.my subwoofer is set to 40hz. what do you guys think of these settings?

i got the shakers installed in my coaster chairs after trying everyway i could think of. they are total hidden inside the chair and work great. i really like the feeling what you see on the screen. it adds a whole other element to watching movies. anyone have any thoughs about the setting i am using on the amp? here is a picture of the installed kicker.

It is all a matter of preference. I think most set their sub at 60-80 hz and shakers somewhere around 40-80 Hz. You set it where you like it, sounds good and feels good.

Sounds good. I have the same switch settings, but at about 60hz i think - to make up for a crummy subwoofer.

thanks for the replies. i just watched harry potter the order of the phoenix and the kickers never came on. i will have to play with the settings a little more to get it were it needs to be.
It should tell you in the owners manual if I remember correctly

Here's what I did, use the hallway shootout scene in Terminator 2 for calibration. When the "bad" terminator is shooting his pistol the shake should be felt, but not huge. When Arnold let's loose with his shotgun, however, you want the chair to jump. Play with the level and x-over until this feels right, and you should be set. You want good LF shake, but not midbass shake, or every car door will rock you when it closes!

I agree! When I first got my transducer, (mine's a Crowson Tactile Transducer with the Buttkicker amp), I set it so it was vibrating all the time. Eventually that got old... and distracting. Now I have it set so it only hits on the sub-40 Hz stuff. It's much more realistic, believable and appropriate that way.
