Seems like all I ever see are bad posts about Sony RP LCD lamps. Well I have had a 42we610m for about 4-5 years now. It was getting a little dim so I decided to check the hours on it. I was a little surprised to see the hours were listed as 8249. Got over 8000 hours on my first lamp in that TV!!! Time to get a new lamp, just ordered one, but I have to say I am pretty happy with 8000+ hours. Been a great set for 5 years and is now my second set in my bonus room and still going strong.

It is in the service menu. Just enter the service menu and cycle through until it says lamp hours or something like that. On the we610 it took a while to finally get to it in the service menu.

The results are now in: The bulbs lasted such a short amount of time and cost so much money that they contributed to the unexpected death of SXRD!
