Just before I left work (Best Buy) an hour ago, we got a memo from Corporate telling us to start selling Rush Hour 3 immediately. From what I heard, BB is not the only store doing this, so if you did not want to buy it online, it should be available NOW.

I going to pick it up.

It's shipping soon for me on Amazon. I'd expect it on the 27th.

The better news would be if the memo said to destroy all copies!
Boo to New Line and their Fox like pricing.

Agreed...I can't image plunking down $35 (BB) for, as someone proclaimed, this dreck...heck even the $16 SD version is overpriced by about $15.

Eh, I can't imagine paying that much for this movie.

I did enjoy Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2, btw.

Now I know why I skipped it. I rented it, free with my Blockbuster's Reward.

Only memorable part for me was the French Driver/Agent. LOL

It was good. The first two were better, but still not a bad movie. I will be picking this up if it is not given to me as a Christmas gift.

I loved the first 2 RH movies, so I'm quite sure the 3rd one will be just as good. However, I will only buy a trilogy set, NOT the 3rd one on its own.

Surprisingly, Amazon already shipped mine. It was originally scheduled to ship on Monday and arrive next Thursday, but they shipped it early and now it will be here before Christmas.

I thought the 3rd was just as funny as the others. I'll be picking it up, but not on BD. I'll wait for a trilogy set or the HD-DVD version

Agreed. I really didn't like Rush Hour 2 at all. And I refuse to pay money to see #3.

As for Ratface's other directorial efforts, I actually liked X-Men 3. Sure it could've been even greater had someone else made it, but at least it turned out better than Superman Returns. But The Family Man and Red Dragon were worthless.

Walmart is doing this with all 25/26th movies. They want to put one last push on holiday movies as its the best time to sell them

When did the title of this thread morph into "Rush hour 3: Your thoughts on it?"

So sick and tired of almost every friggin thread in these sections turning into people going on how they hated a movie or thought a movie was crap. NOBODY CARES IF YOU DID.

Here's hoping somebody starts a new thread about the quality of the presentation and doesn't just post their thoughts here because I can't take trying to skim through a lot of posts of people critiquing the film itself as if their opinion of it matters to me simply to get to some real substance.

If you want to go on how you disliked the film then go to the movie review section and do it there. Better yet, go to IMDB or rotten tomatoes which is designed for that stuff.

Sheesh. BTW I have never seen this movie so I have no idea if it is good/bad. I can assure you when i see it i won't be coming in here and sharing my thoughts because it does not matter.

There is no way to keep movie content out of the equation. I've started enough threads requesting opinions about the quality to know.

So...the movie is now available, but how long does it take for the laughs to hit street date? 2009?

I assume you meant the Blu-ray version, correct? What player did you use, a PS3? Did you update to the latest firmware?

I agree, I think I will have to give them a call to find out where is the Blu-ray?

Netflix seems to be quite dumb lately. I'm still waiting for them to offer the BR edition of The Omega Man, Clockwork Orange, and The Shinning.

So I noticed this movie actually supports 7.1, does anyone with a nice DTS-HD set up have any opinions on the audio?

I don't have access to the 7.1 setup but the track seems very loud. I had to turn it down about 10 clicks lower than what I usually listen to most movies at. There is some heavy LFE throughout the movie as well. Anyone else notice this?

I just got this as a gift a few hours ago. I've always been a huge fan of the Rush Hour series and the third one is no exception. The Blu-ray transfer seems quite good and matches what I remember in the theater.

I don't care if this movie is awful to anyone or everybody, I am a fan of Jackie Chan so I will be buying this one and yes in Blu ray not in sd dvd.

Ugh, I love the Rush Hour series... until 3 happened. I like the second installment the best, I'd totally pick that up on Blu Ray; but Rush Hour 3? No thanks...

I just noticed that Rush Hour 3 has a pip track. Just from watching the track on my ps3 i can't tell if it is true pip or seamless bracnching. Does anybody know?

It's just a double encode, aka "fake PIP."

It only shows as 5.1 on my system with bitstream.

Panasonic DMP-BD30K 1.2 firmware -> Denon AVR-3808ci w/ latest firmware.

I hear they released a 1.3 updated yesterday and I'll try updating the panasonic to see if that makes any difference.

i just picked this movie up. I saw it in the theatre and thought it was a nice addition to the first two. I also picked up The Simpsons Movie, Ocean's Trilogy, and Harry Potter Collection.

Well, I'll rent it through Netflix, which means I'll see it cometime in the Fall of 2008 since they flat out suck for new releases these days. LONG WAIT is pasted to every damn title I have in my queue.

EDIT: Unreal, stupid Netflix doesn't even have the BD!!!

Has anyone been able to get 7.1 audio from this movie? If so, please describe your setup. Player (firmware) and receiver and how connected.

Thanks

I'm at work, but I just realized, I have PLII on by default. Could this somehow be blocking the receiver from receiving 7.1?

I have a Denon 3808.

Thnx

After further research, I'm of the opinion that New Line either doesn't know what they're doing, or they're being deceptive in stating 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The only time my receiver shows 7.1 input, is when the New Line logo is showing before the movie starts.

Exactly the same with New Line's new BD release of Shoot 'Em Up. Company logo is DTS Master 7.1 but the main feature is 5.1.

So, is this New Line's fault, a compatibility issue with software vs. hardware, etc.?

Some have stated unequivocally that they can get the 7.1 speaker icons to show up on their DTS-MA enabled equipment and get sound, some state they cannot... even on the same receivers/players.

What the f--k is going on?

I can get 7.1...but only from the New Line logo, not the movie. It's almost like they are using their logo with 7.1 surround sound, so that they can list 7.1 on the movie case.

I rented it from Hollywood video. The picture quality was good on my 106" screen; the sound was great even though I'm only getting DTS Core. Chris Tucker was funny as heck, Jackie chan had great stunts. Great Eiffel tower action screne. Loved it.

I rented from Blockbuster online the first day it came out. My girlfriend and I hated it - maybe it's not a bad movie by itself, but it compares poorly to the previous two in my opinion.
