I can get these for 70% off retail pricing, and was curious what your guys opinions were on them. Does the substantial discount almost negate the substantial markup? Or would I be better off going another route for speakers? Any comments would be helpful, from the radical to the neutral :)

Anything made by Monster is considered overpriced for what they deliver by a lot of folks here in this forum. Any Monster cables that I have bought, I got on a discount and are please with them.

70% is a heck of a discount, can you listen to them first? That would be a pretty easy way to decide I would think.

Which ones? If your refering to the Eleganza's - don't miss the boat on that one. Worth every penny. Just got my crateload and let me tell you , they are something else. Nothing in 5.1 I auditioned under 10k sounded that good . Smooth. But there are better choices at the 20k mark. As for the MT200 towers which I no longer have,do look good and sound good for movies but lack a cohesiveness for 2 channel music( lots of 'smearing and instrument wander' on demanding material , very little low bass extention -you'll need a sub just for 2 channel) .YMMV.
