With is appearing that Sony is dropping its LCD and LCOS RPTV's I wonder if one of the reasons is that it is not possible to have a LED or Laser LCD or LCOS unit.
The advantage of not having a bulb unit whose brightness decreases near its end of life and then requires replacement when it finally dies is both a nuisance and expensive. With both Samsung and Mitsusbishi planning on shipping Laser units next year Sony may have determined if it can not have a bulbless model RPTV is is best to exit the market.
