I bought a new samsung HLR5667w last year. Now i was in cc today looking at a new samsung blueray player and the salesman told me that i won't be able to see as great of a picture because my t.v. is only 720p. Should i upgrade to be able to view at 1080p, or will i not notice the difference? Can someone explain in laymens terms? I am not an audio/visual file, but i would like to have a great:confused: picture for Dvd and Hd.

You will get a high def picture, 720p is HD
If you want a new set buy one, but a blu ray player is cheaper than a new tv. If you can't see an improvement then look for a new tv.
Find the owners thread for your model tv & ask there, other owners will be able to tell you for sure.

I think the question is whether a true 1080i/p set will yield a better picture than what he has now, which is an argument that has been beaten into the ground around here.
but, my take is, if you have 2 tv's in different rooms (ie, not side by side), with the same basic settings and same source, you'd be hard pressed to really see a difference. I think other factors play a bigger part in that, like environment, calibration, etc. maybe I'm a cynic, but I don't think the image would be that dramatically different.
