View Full Version : Heartbreak Kid edited for content?!?!?!?!?!? genfuyung 12-22-07, 09:58 PM So I just popped in the heartbreak kid and it says this film has been modified from its original version. It has been edited for content. Um wtf? pumbaa071 12-22-07, 10:06 PM is it the unrated version? if so it will have been edited genfuyung 12-22-07, 10:08 PM idk i got it from netflix. usually it only says its edited for content if its like the tbs version...i havent seen it b4 though so i wont be able to tell any differences. dalamchops 12-22-07, 10:19 PM might've been the beach scene w/ the hair -.- it was quite disturbing dkwhite 12-22-07, 10:42 PM might've been the beach scene w/ the hair -.- it was quite disturbing Yeah. OP: What's the rating on it, is it R or PG13? It should be R. genfuyung 12-22-07, 11:50 PM might've been the beach scene w/ the hair -.- it was quite disturbing unfortunately...that scene was still there...my retinas hurt... akbled 12-23-07, 01:21 AM All of the unrated HD DVDs have that disclaimer at the beginning. Is this an unrated cut? Pravster 12-23-07, 12:04 PM All of the unrated HD DVDs have that disclaimer at the beginning. Is this an unrated cut? The Heartbreak Kid HD DVD is rated R. I wondered about that "edited for content" business too. It seemed pretty R to me, and I didn't hear any mention in the bonus materials about the movie being any stronger. In fact, the Farrelly Brothers seemed happy to be working on an R-rated comedy. win200 12-23-07, 01:19 PM unfortunately...that scene was still there...my retinas hurt... Man, I'm with you on that one... I really, REALLY could have done without that. When did the Farrelly Brothers forget how to be funny? Adam_G 12-23-07, 02:41 PM If you think that's bad, check out the easter egg under deleted scenes (when viewing the deleted scenes list hit the right arrow, then select the jellyfish). Thankfully there are no pictures of the described event. I too was surprised at the modified for content message. I never saw it in the theater, but it didn't look like they had censored anything. Adam Tyner 12-23-07, 03:41 PM The theatrical release had two clips play during/after the credits -- the home video release lops off one of them (set when Eddie was in camp as a kid). That may be the only difference. Andy_K 12-23-07, 06:10 PM Jeez, could someone post a hidden spoiler describing the scene with the "hair"? Now you've got me curious, though I have no interest in seeing the film. raoul_duke 12-23-07, 06:40 PM Did they edit Ben Stiller out of it? No? Okay, no deal then... DM2006RI 12-23-07, 06:58 PM Man, I'm with you on that one... I really, REALLY could have done without that. When did the Farrelly Brothers forget how to be funny? Pretty much when they thought making a movie with Greg Kinnear and Matt Damon as conjoined twins would be hilarious. marcellusk 12-24-07, 03:58 PM any updates yet? Adam Tyner 12-26-07, 02:59 PM any updates yet?About what was edited? Scroll a few posts up. mbw23air 12-26-07, 05:29 PM The theatrical release had two clips play during/after the credits -- the home video release lops off one of them (set when Eddie was in camp as a kid). That may be the only difference. Crap, just sent it back to netflix and I didn't watch all the end credits. Doh! Oh well. That may be the only difference. That was the funniest scene of the movie, so that's upsetting to hear. |
