Alright, so after my Tversity demo expired I'm now testing out Twonkyvision and have to say that I am a bit confused. I really want to find something to suit my needs (PS3 reading from Mac) but nothing seems to be working. It seems like only a handful of my music files are recognized by Twonkyvision, with the majority of them sending me the "unsupported data" message. Anyone have any ideas why or using Twonky + Mac with any success? I really want to copy some more music to my PS3 hard drive, but am NOT going to burn CD's for it.
What kind of files are they? MP3? Are they DRM protected AAC (iTunes?)

tversity...demo expired? Tversity is free...
Anyway, check out twonkyforum, looks like twonky has issues with streaming divx right now.
Edit: looks like they released a new version 4.4.3.1 that should fix your issues.

I'm running 4.4.3 on a dual G5 with no problems. Most of my Divx play without issue, anything I ripped for the AppleTV doesn't play, but mostly I'm happy with it. The full version will allow you to transcode MP3's to FLAC, but I'm not sure the PS3 will deal will that. Give it a shot.
If its MP3, or DRM free WMA or AAC, its not a problem. If it is DRM protected AAC or WMA, it wont work. That is the beauty of DRM. You can pay for music, but aren't allowed to actually use it.

Well, the weird thing is that some of the AAC files that come up as "Unsupported Data" are ripped from CDs that I own - i.e., DRM free. I knew about the DRM limitation but assumed that AAC's ripped from my own collection would be just fine.
From the looks at the Twonky Forum, 4.4 fixes this issue, but that's not the demo version that I have (or the version they provide). Looks like I'll be holding out for PS3Connect or something like that. Not dropping $30 on a program who's demo isn't up to speed.
Thanks for the heads up on Tversity, but I'm under the impression it's a PC program only. Is that correct?
It was EyeConnect that I had that was the demo that expired, not Tversity. Sorry for the confusion there.

The demo from the site is 4.4.3.1 - I actually downloaded it today, liked what I saw, and paid for it immediately.
The link even says 4.4.3 :)

But yes, Tversity is PC only.

Yes, you need a newer version of Twonky to support AAC. You should always rip to MP3 for best compatibility. MP3 works with pretty much anything.
