TV: Samsung HLT6187SAX 61" Slim LED Engine 1080p DLP HDTV
Input: Directv HR20-700 HDDVR
Output: Ugly, grainy picture.

I'll try to make this as quick as possible.

So we purchased the above tv, hooked it up to the DTV HD DVR box through HDMI cable and to say the least the picture was undesireable. I read a few reviews online and a few stated that the TV was normally ugly out of the box, but after a calibration the picture was beatiful. I attempted some basic setting adjustments myself, but to no avail. I then contacted Samsung Customer service, the rep explained there is nothing she can do over the phone but instead said because its in its warranty period she would send a technican out to calibrate the TV. All I needed to do was fax over a copy of the reciept to validate the warranty. When I went to fax the info it appeared I misplaced the fax number so I called CS again and the next rep proceeded to tell me that it has to be my input and that the TV has no calibrate-able parts or settings. His logic was if the TV's menu looked ok, then there was nothign to be done to increase the quality of the picture. I'm a big of a newbie and I didn't know where to take it from there..

But to make a long story short... the picture on this TV is not what I seen in the store, although they both have the same input (DTV). What do you all recommend to help me get this fixed before the fights next weekend?

Thanks in advance!
