My samsung had bad ics when I got it, I replaced them and can now fully adjust convergence. My problem is, I have everything about as far as the SM convergence, but if I try to move the grid any higher or lower on the screen (make overscan for perfect focus) the lines at the top will bend and curl over, move them back down and there is no problem. Is there a mechanical geometry conrtol I can change?

Its like the problem is that the projectors are maxed out up and down and trying to make it taller and lower makes them distort. If I keep the grid centered its ok, just if I make it taller or lower. Please help me with any advise, I need it bad. Thank you

You are running into the limits of the output IC/convergence yoke interface. When you push it that far you are going to cause the ICs to overheat. Do not adjust any parameter beyond the point where it does what you expect it should. You should be able to get enough out of it to have enough overscan for the convergence sensors to see it. If you can't you have some other problem. I have found that to get many samsungs right, you have to reset the convergence and start form scratch, being sure to center the static convergence adjustments to minimize the d.c. offset on the convergence ICs.

So if I leave it as it is, even though its not distorting, it is close to the limit so the ic's are heating up? It has never done this before, and I have been adjusting the heck out of this set as far as convergence and geometry, so maybe I got something messed up.

Man id really hate to reset the convergence again, (tape and strings arent fun) but will if I have to. Let me know and thanks for the quick reply
