The only way to see the 1st two in HD is via the Boxset they are not sold seperately. YOu may get lucky and find someone who split up the boxset, but besides that you are SOL. I personally liked the 1st 2 movies, many though did not like the 2nd one. They do follow the same characters and the stories are tied in together from the 1st one, but I am pretty sure you could get away with watching them independantly.

Watching the first two will create a familiarity with the characters but they're not necessary.

Both of the people getting in the way of Ocean's crew from the first two movies appear in 13.
