BIGmouthinDC 12-26-07, 04:17 PM Bud, quick grab a Patent. Stewart and AMX could sell a 25 cent piece of plastic for $19.99 easy.
chinadog 12-26-07, 05:19 PM Yeah, but that would make me feel guilty as all hell!

Little off topic for a sec but can anyone tell me how the wireless bar works compared to the wired bar? I want to go wireless for better placement but wondered if it worked as well as the wired. Thanks.

I haven't used the wired one since I knew I couldn't, but the wireless works just fine. I got it from Amazon. You just have to remember to turn it off.
Bud
Haha. Thats pretty cool. I just use 2 candles.

I heard that works, but would rather spend the 20.00 than to have my kids burn down the house!
Bud
Thats true. Its just temporary until i get a new one.
Even though usually when i use candles i don't burn the house down

I am a novice on Wii but I did some reading on the sensor bars. Actually it is more of a emitter bar. It emits a pair of signals that are used as reference points for calculating the movement of the pointing device. The cord is simply a power supply. Therefore the battery operated units work just fine. Some people have hacked their tethered units and figured out what transformer works and used a plug in wall wart to power their sensor bars.
Jeff Hovis 12-26-07, 08:52 PM Great post! A new Wii showed up at our house yesterday also. I have it on a 42" plasma in our basement right now, but the kids are asking for me to move it to the HT. How did you guys connect it to the pj?

When I put up the Projector I ran a DVI cable and Component 3 cable bundle. I haven't used the component cable so I just reassigned one of the cables and put it in composite input on my projector and the composite output of my receiver. Then I plugged the Wii into my receiver.
Jeff Hovis 12-26-07, 09:43 PM What a coincidence! I have the exact same two cable bundle. I haven't used the component cables since upgrading DVD players and I almost pulled it back through the conduit. Looks like the Wii will be on the big screen. I'm totally addicted to Guitar Hero. Even my 15-yr old daughter who is too cool jams on it.

BIGmouthinDC 12-26-07, 10:00 PM I just learned that you can hook up Wii using the full 3 cable component set and improve the Picture quality.
Need to get one of these:

chinadog 12-26-07, 10:04 PM I plugged ours into the receiver and am running HDMI to the projector. I purchased a video switch from Amazon this morning, I plan on running all the game consoles to the switch, then to the receiver via the DTV component inputs on my Yamaha RXV2600. Here is the Pelicon switch I bought from Amazon, recommended by mrpergo:

chinadog 12-26-07, 10:05 PM Big, yeah, I have one of those too. They sell those at monoprice. I'll connect that to my switch. I bought mine from Amazon too, then found this:

Not bad for 4.00! EDIT: Hmmm, went up to 6.00 and change today!
Bud
I got mine like that on monoprice.com also it improves PQ a good bit. I am running mine through my receiver then it upconverts via HDMI to PJ.

Bud
Just saved me $16. Thanks
Jeff Hovis 12-27-07, 12:42 AM Thanks, that's good stuff.
Digital Man 12-27-07, 01:01 PM Great thread. I temporarily just set my sensor bar on the bottom of the screen frame, but that gives me some good ideas on how to make a more permanent mount.
I used the component cable from Monoprice and it worked great.
For a wireless sensor bar, I used this one that has a built in AC adapter: http://www.videogamebundle.com. It works great too. My Wiimotes work all the way back to my second row which is around 15'.
