Have any of you used these?

They're pricey, but they seem to be the only decent option I've found to add unobstrusive safety lights to my riser. (My riser is single step-up, with no overhang).

Some thoughts, yes they will provide the safety factor. However the light will be very visible and could be very distracting. Also not sure if they can be dimmed.

Have you considered step lights that would be recessed in the sides of the riser. You can get 120v and put on a dimmer.

Same web site as those LED strips.

Thanks for the idea, Bigmouth.

I guess I'm a little reluctant to go with that type of light because my riser is already built and carpeted, so I'd have to destroy the carpet on the rear of the riser to run the wires, and I'm not even sure which way the joists are running so it might be quite the challenge getting the wires from the light-box to the electric outet behind the riser. The riser is big and heavy -- it can be moved. But this whole process seems like a major undertaking with uncertain results...
