I put Pan in the A2 last night and it says "Can Not Verify Content." Took the disc to the bedroom, popped it in the A1 and it plays fine. Any suggestions? Anyone else having this problem?
FYI: I've been running 1.2 without a hitch on A2. But will gladly update if I could figure out how to install the ethernet. Tried all speeds (I have comcast HiSpeed) and all I get when trying to update is: "Can Not Find Out Server." I have done all previous up dates by burning discs.

1.2? Jeez. Lemming, please PM me your address. I will mail you a 2.7 disc today (really). There are issues with the initial Ethernet updates on certain A2's.
Pan's Labyrinth plays fine on my A2 w/ 2.7 firmware.
Hopefully the mods will lock this thread ASAP.

I have setup mulitple A2's that had firmware 1.2 on them and I had to setup the networking using Static IPs including DNS for it to work through ethernet. There seemed to be some sort of bug on 1.2 that was fixed with 1.3.
If you don't have a router that allows you to have multiple devices on your cable connection this can cause some grief because most cable modems merry the hardware MAC address of the nic it sees on power up. You can try powering off the cable modem before you connect it to the A2 and see if that works as well.
Or just burn the ISO from toshibas site.

Why did this need its own thread??
Jeez, do a search first and update your firmware.

I did do a search and couldn't find anything. I too am opposed to people making useless threads, but I didn't know if this was a firmware or a Newline disc issue.

Make sure you read the instructions in the booklet. You have to turn on DHCP and all that sort of stuff before it works. I had the same problem on my A3, but once I read the instruction book, it all worked

I am a firm believer in "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but this is ridiculous. If you get a new HD DVD and it won't run, make sure you are running the latest firmware. Come to think of it, every damn HD DVD movie I have bought has a little card in there to remind you not to forget. You typed out a message, so you can't blame it on illiteracy.
