Just info about HDMI cables for HDDVD.
Just want to add .02 cents worth about cables. I have the '94 and the AX2 and used a Monster brand HDMI 1.3 compliant cable. Hey, the pics was good and could see no problems with HD. I changed the HDMI cable to a Blue Jeans brand that is rated for 1.3a and what a difference. The picture is so clear that it looks like a photo! So good cables do make a difference.

Just a quick question. Were both cables that you used the same length? I have 6' Belkin cable hooked from my HD-DVD player directly to my TV, and I dont see how another brand of cable could get me a better picture than I am already seeing.

Yep, the same length. Blue Jeans had their cables made for 1.3a and Monster was supposed to be for 1.3 HDMI.

How are you comparing the two?

Are you doing an A/B by hooking one cable into HDMI 1 and other cable into HDMI 2 on your HDTV? Flipping back and forth between sources?

If so then your HDTV may have different settings on each input. Make sure they match.

No way changing cables made a difference. You must have done something else.

yea larry, either that, or there's some placebo effect at work...

too many of us have proven that what he is "seeing" isn't true...

Yes, and people used to think that the earth was flat?

you need to change your sig, because you obviously have not learned enough yet... ;)

the flat earth analogy doesn't hold water... nice try though...

hdmi signals are digital... either the signal gets through, or it doesn't... poor signal quality shows itself with "sparklies" or "missing data" (or no picture at all)...

if you saw "no problems" before, changing the cable alone didn't make your picture better. again, this has been proven by many many people many times over.

geez. usually we have to convince people to NOT buy monster cables...

Thanks for the putdown. It's people like you who make the hobby of HT such a bummer.

sorry. maybe i could have put that better.

however, if you post something that many of us know to be untrue, and when it is pointed out that it is untrue you respond "people believed the earth was flat", you probably will get responded to in kind.

glad your picture is better.
