Well I have been working on my 1958 Rambler for two and half years now. Bought it as a fixer upper. I gutted the basement, updated to 100A service, added drain tile, and created a bathroom, 2 bedrooms (W/Egress), and last but not least a theater/rec room. Now that my bathroom and bedrooms are complete I have finally approached the anticipated moment of getting my basement theater together. I am quite far along (Walls are up, Insulated, and Lighting/Electrical is in) <---Assuming I don't change anything
The room is 28 x 10'7 as you can maybe read in the CAD drawings Ive posted. Ceiling will be 7'3 after sheet rock and dri-core/carpet installation. I plan on going with a Berkline 088 3 seater and a mini-bar for overflow seating.
I plan to use JBL Studio S Series Speakers since I already own them.
JBL S36 for sides and rear ---> http://www.audioreview.com/cat/speakers/floorstanding-speakers/jbl/PRD_125461_1594crx.aspx
JBL S412P for the front ---> http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/jbl/floorstanding-speakers/PRD_124336_1594crx.aspx
JBL S-Center for the center ---> http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/jbl/center-channels/PRD_123813_2743crx.aspx
The S412P have a powered 12" Sub in them, So I will have two subs up front (Which Ive read is supposedly better than 1)
The rest I am unsure of though.
I am struggling with some last minute design decisions.
1. I can't decide if I want a bar in the back or what to do with the area?
2. Also should I break the room up with a partial wall since it is so long, and It would afford me a better place to mount my rear speakers? (See Sketchup Picture)
Any suggestions on anything?
The Soffit is 18" x 8"H and will border the entire room
