I've heard they can handle DVD-R, DVD+R, both DL's, and DVD-RW's (according to what some owners have said). How about DVD+RW's? No good

No good  I've got a 5K and have had no problems playing DVD-R. I have tested DVD+R with mixed success. Others have stated that the playback of +R media depends on the "book" (or somesuch setting) type specified at the time of burning. It is possible to play back +R media and I must have lucked out as all the +Rs that I have in my small library of burned DVDs, play without issue. I have not tested any RW -/+ media. Hope this helps.
