I have been thinking about Theater Theme's..
I wanted somthing diferent.

Like a Matrix Theme or an Indiana Jones theme.

But I think I am going to go for a Animated Disney Theme.

Yea, I'm gonna do a Mickey Mouse Theater!!!

My wife LOVE's ALL the animated Disney movies and we own most of them so it will will be an easy sell (Her favorite Gift this Christmas was Alladin and Alice in wonderland).

I love Disney too but don't even think about bringing up BR though, it'll be HD-DVD based.

Any way.
I saw the most perfect stuff at the Local Disney store.

Huey, duey and luey with film related items and a film strip tieing up Donald, Goofy as a Grip, and Mickey running a big ass boom mounted Camera.

I want to find stuff like that and want to mount the PJ in the Mickey Mouse Projector.

All will be done by myself and on a fairly tight budget. I have all the equipment already, but need ideas where to get the props.
Oh and build the Theater...

I'm gonna use this thread as a Gathering place for my idea's...

I'm not sure whether I want go totally Fantastic with a Disney, come alive or a more subdued memorabilia collector style.

Alice in wonderland theme:

Cheshire Cat when lights on then when light off there will be a glow in the dark Grin (easy to do, I have a VERY powerful, prolific GID paint)

Life size Tink.... heh...

Incredible s poster and maybe logo.

Need color Scheme...

Large Black Mickey Logo in the carpet...

Of course will have to have a couple Hidden Mickeys...

Cars Logo and Piston Cup Prop

This would be handy...

I might need to watch this first...

Sounds like a great idea for a theater, I look forward to following this one. If you haven't already done so, you should check out the Pirates of the Caribbean themed theater on this forum.

In regards to which direction to take it, don't know if you've ever done a Disney Cruise, but there is a restaurant on the ship called "animators palate", do a quick google images search and take a gander, pretty cool what they did there. using lighting to change colors and such. Not what I'd choose for a HT, but I'm interested to see it take shape none the less.

Two very good sources for props would be the Disney stores and Ebay.

A Disney themed home theater with no Bluray?

Skywlker - your screename begs the question - Why not Star Wars? lol

Would love to see a theatre in the Disney genre - you could incorporate some HM ideas, seating that looks like Doom Buggys.

Check out what this talented guy did for Halloween:

This is what is going to tied me over while building the theater.

and I have done a test run of the Cheshire cat and it works REALLY well and has a great affect.

I used a blue GID paint for his eyes and it dims out after about 10-20 min and the grin remains for around 2 hours.

It works well with the GID star field ceiling.

It will slow your build down. I did the same thing and spend more time watching it and surfing AVS then working on my HT
