In all, the open space will be roughly 16 by 31.5, but the 'theater area' will be 12.75 by 16. I was thinking of putting the TV on the end of the long part......but have rethought that and think I'll put it on the facing of the stair well that comes up, u-turns and goes up into the 'non-theater' area. The stair well separates the total room, but we are leaving that open to make the room 'bigger'
That space on the back of the stair well is 6.5 feet wide and will be perfect for the TV and two front speakers on each side with the center below or above.....all Def Tech speakers by the way.
That leaves me with the ability to run UIW BP/As in the side slants (roof pitch is steep) of the ceiling and my BPx's in the on the 'back' for a 7.1 surround set up. I still haven't figured out where I will run the sub, but that shouldn't be too hard.
Also, I already have 100 feet of the monoprice CL2 14 gauge wire so I'll likely go with more of that since the runs shouldn't be too far over the top and in wall.....
Question is, is that 13 x 16 area too small for my setup? TV is currently a 50 inch plasma, but might jump to a 58......if I go longways, then I don't have anywhere logical to put the left surrounds since the room will be open air for the 31 foot total length sans the area it takes to enclose the HVAC system and bathroom......I figure I'll have a couch on one of the walls and a couple nice recliners in front of the TV......Should I do 7.1 or just stay with 5.1?
I wish I knew how to post the floor plans, but I haven't a clue......
