If you've ever seen their commercials, that's what the story is. You have great blacks(in the commercials), but you're conveying them in such a disgusting way that no one pays attention. They need to have commercials showing beautiful landscapes(from Planet Earth), and do some creative things like make it look really bad and increase the black level as the commercial goes on showing what the Kuro can do.

Their introduction of the Kuro (http://youtube.com/watch?v=6KCfff5tLVs&feature=related)was better. I don't want to see someone's disgusting dry mouth and its tongue. Their commercials look like nightmares. They need to let people know that they are the best in the market, not hope that sites like cnet will educate people because not everyone goes on cnet.

I couldn't disagree more. The U.S. commercials are way cooler. They have much more imagination. They get across the idea that the blacks are better from the get go. The visuals stay with you. The commercial from Taiwan looks a bit cheap to me. It looks more like a samsung commercial from the 80's.

Anyone who buys their TV (or car, house, etc.) based on a TV commercial is a braindead git IMO. They are meant to distort reality and make things look better.

I've just seen on my crappy Samsung 26" LCD the Pioneer 50" plasma looks better than the Panasonic 50" in a commercial :P

Commercials to me mean; Bathroom break, get something to drink, check email, get things done, and then try to get back just when they are finished.:cool:
Sometimes there are good ones worth seeing though, like during the Super Bowl.

Pioneer needs to hire new Advertising agency! Currrent commercial suck!!

The problem is that it is difficult to convey the better black levels when many people are watching the commercial on sets with black levels inferior to the KURO :(

But I agree their commercials are terrible even hitachi has better commercials.
