Hello all,

I'm trying to help my parents out with getting their TV in order and I have a couple questions. Their main display is a Panasonic TH-42PWD6, which as far as I know is SD (not ED or HD but please correct me if I'm wrong). They have the adapters (BNC to RCA) to connect a component signal to the TV. They subscribe to DirecTV and are looking to upgrade to a DVR. The main question is with this display, if they upgrade to an HD package from DirecTV will the HD channels actually look any better? Also, will the regular channels look better if the receiver uses component instead of the S-video (I would assume so but want to be sure) and is it required to get an HD receiver in order to get a component output? I hope that's not all too confusing, I just want to get them the best picture with the display they have.
