I am still in the planning phase for my theater room. I had the layout pretty much set in stone so to speak how I wanted it but then I thought about adding more seating with a table or bar.
The room is 17' deep by 15' wide. My plan was to build a 10" riser in the back of the room and put a table long enough for 2 -3 people to sit comfortably and eat. I have 2 large reclining theater seats that would go in front of that. On the other side of the room across from the riser would be my chaise lounge chair.
Now how close or how far back from the screen should the seats be?
Another idea would be to put the large theater seats on the riser and then the chaise lounge down in front of the riser which would leave open the whole other side of the room for more seats or build some type of bar or table that will allow folks to eat and watch the screen at the same time. I only have 15'x17' to work with.
I will try to post up a sketch of the room to give an idea of what I am working with.
