Question. I have a Xbox 360 and using VGA. In Movie mode. Sharpness is locked out to 20. I need to get in the sm and make a adjustment to make it sharper. Can anyone tell me step by step on how to do that?

Use dynamic or Standard mode then. Calibration does not seem to matter here given this request.

Should also note that on many Samsung sets, the sharpness control often acts like a big placebo ... and does very little. Turning the DNie on does add more EE ... but also adds other nasty things too.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Actually this is a big issue. Using movie mode. I can use my Warm2 and all color temps. Using the vga with my 360. Sharpness is locked out to 20. It gives me a blurry picture. By using dynamic or standard mode. It fixes the blurry issues. It locks out sharpness at 75 instead of the 20 that vga is locked out to in movie mode. However. I am limited to color temps in both modes. I am limited to Cool 2, Cool 1, and Normal. I do no like the "cooler" looking picture. Even choosing normal give me a cooler temp. I like my warm temps. Between it being blurry and wanting to choose warm 2 color temp. Thats why I need to make a adjustment with the sharpness in the sm for vga and for movie mode specifically.

The sm color temps are often based on offset numbers. It may be possible to copy down the warm 2 numbers and transfer them to the cool 2 setting for instance ...

Make sure you write it all down first.

I am limited to settings when using vga with 360. I can only adjust Contrast, Brightness and Back Light. Everything else is grayed out. I will not even go into the sm without talking to someone first knowing what they are doing in there. I know nothing about it. Sounds like you know your stuff. If you or someone else can tell me how to fix my sharpness issue. That would be grand. Everything else is fine. Another reason why I am insisting staying in Movie mode using vga with 360. If I go into Dynamic or Standard mode. It jumps my color to 55. On Movie mode its at 50. 55 gives me major color bleed and it just looks bad.

Since nobody can help me with this. Can anyone tell me if I purchased the service manual from Samsung directly. Would it tell me how to adjust that value?
