I am looking for a bit of feedback along with ideas and suggestions for my setup. Less than I year ago I got the opportunity to jump on a refurb 4805. For less than $600 I was able to get this PJ, mount it on the ceiling, build a 90" screen and cable it up. It was a bit of a surprise, my wife literally said, "well why don't you just buy it" when I saw the PJ on woot.com, so the setup had little to no planning before hand. I already had the sound system but it was all setup around 27" CRT.

I setup the projector to point towards the TV/entertainment center and then built my screen as light as possible. The screen hangs from the entertainment center. Here are some pics of the setup.

Close up of center channel and source equipment. I have a Wii so the sensor bar sets on top of the speaker when I'm using the screen. When the screen is down, I place the sensor bar on it's stand at the bottom of the TV and the center speaker goes on top of the TV. The center speaker is hung on a crude wooden...thing. It actually works quite nice and the doors will open and close freely.

Pic with the screen down. The huge nativity scene required me to bring the shelf down so the center speaker is hidden a bit, normally it isn't.

This is a zoomed in shot showing how the screen is hung. I simply used the stands that were included with my speakers with some anti-slip material and hand clamps. Very simple and doesn't mark up the wood.

For light control I simply hang some extra BOC over the window on the right side. The pictures don't show it well, and I can take another one, but on the left side of the room is an opening so you can see into that level, which is the dining room. Here I also hang some BOC.

Hanging BOC over the openings looks terrible, so that's the first area I'm looking for suggestions. Curtains are an obvious choice for the window, but what about that opening? Covering it (drywall it over, etc) isn't an option as we like it and the room is typically setup with the screen down.

All of my audio components are a bit old, the receiver is Pro Logic II only and doesn't have any component or audio inputs other than analog, no optical or digital anything there. I'll be replacing the receiver in 2008 sometime.

The room measures approx 12'x18'. I'm interested in suggestions for improving the space. Suggestions for lighting, equipment/placement and furniture is not out of the question. The wife and I have already discussed replacing the couch/loveseat.

I would buy a sectional and remove the other two couches. Set the curve of the couch in the corner where the lamp is. Keep the tables set one up in the front of the couch and the end table on he end closest to the screen. I also has a entertainment center and removed it I sold it for 300 at a garage sale and bought some more equipment. Id remove it and for now use the equipment center piece to hold the center speaker and build a black frame for the screen and mount it on the wall. Curtains on the windows will help make a diffrence. http://www.theaterxtreme.com/cineplan/cineplan.html this may help you set up a bit.

I wouldn't mind getting rid of the entertainment center but my wife is against it. Also, I typically only use the PJ for movies and gaming when I know I have at least an hour's worth of time to use it. So for now I can't really convert this room into a dedicated theater, it has to remain "convertible"

I like the sectional idea...I hadn't thought of going that route.
