To those who either own or have heard the elemental designs A7S-450 how does it do with lots of music. I am looking for a sub for 70% music 30% ht that would be tight and clean for music but also move some air when I want to watch a movie? Is this a good choice for a small footprint sub with excellent music production and good ht effect?

YES. I have had one for a couple of months. Very good with music and it has the needed punch for HT.

With these waits I suggest you order one now. They don't charge you until they start building so you have a month before then to cancel/change your order.

Not many people on AVS have had an opportunity to hear one.
We did have an open house last June, which we had a prototype. We had around 100 people that got to hear the unit over a 3 day period.
Casey our warehouse manager was actually a customer around that time, and once he heard the A7s-450, he had to have it. So once he started working here, he bought the prototype.
That unit then sat in my house for roughly 3 months while he lived with my wife and I.
I have to say, with the 1300 watt and no EQ. This thing kicked ass, especially with music.
The towers are around 8-9 feet up front with a separation of 7 feet. The subwoofer is then 1.5ft in front of the couch/listening position and around 1.5ft to the side. So when you are sitting in the left seating position, you can actually use the sub as a footrest. Crossover location around 50-60hz.
We spend probably 10-12 hours one day, doing nothing but listening to music.
It blended unbelievably well. To the point that the subwoofer sounded like it was dead center behind the TV.
No matter how hard you tried, you could not tell the subwoofer was closer to you than the towers.
