I thought with the fall update that AVI files will stream thru the 360. I can get the icons of the videos up but when I try to play it the 360 says the file type isnt supported. I installed Tversity and tried streaming thru the 360 AND PS3 and I get the same error. Is there a trick?
on a side note, while video and picture files will display and play fine on the 360 and PS3 straight from the computer (accept AVI), music does not. Teh consoles just say there is no music there. I dont understand. I have been wrestling this problem for a while

I don't know the exact problem you're having, but you might try taking TVersity out of the equation. With the most recent update, yes, I'm able to stream about 90%+ of my video files to the X360 without any transcoding required.
Since the main advantage of TVersity over something like Media Sharing in Windows Media Player 11 is transcoding, and since that's not required any longer, why not try MS's own sharing mechanism instead? Just go into Windows Media Player, click on Library, then on Media Sharing, then share what you want to play on the X360.
Hopefully that'll fix the problem. If not, post back up the results and we'll see where we can go from there...

I can tell you without a doubt that Ive tried to play AVI files via WMP after the fall update and they do not play. Now the AVI files I am trying to play are home movies I pulled off of my wifes Flip video camera. It shouldnt make a difference because the files record as AVI.
As for the audio issue I cant figure it out. Pictures and movies (minus AVI) play fine but when I go to the music tab, the 360 shows that there is no music on my computer. I have the music saved under c:\\my documents\my music.
My setup is this, computer is hooked up to a wireless router wirelessly and I have the xbox attached to the wireless router via lan cable. But still, I wouldnt think this is a problem because the videos and pictures show up on the 360 fine. Ive removed the xbox from sharing in WMP11 and re-added a few times too.
Do you have the latest version of Tversity? I have had a few frustrating tries at playing some .avis and Once I went from version xx.xx.2 to xx.xx.4 They worked. Well, I also had to download the optional Nellymoser iPod/MPEG4 update, but when I was on the old version of Tversity, I got a general error, but with the new one, the 360 popped up a box telling me to download, which I did and it worked immediately.
Now, I just need to figure out what settings to change to make it fill the screen.
