I'm looking for anyone who has the Tech-Craft ABS60. The total width of this TV stand is 59 3/4". I am wondering if I will be able to fit a 17" wide receiver in the center storage area. I cannot find the width of the individual sections on any website and no store I've visited has it on the floor to measure. My guess is that the receiver would barely fit width wise, but I'm looking for confirmation before I pull the trigger. Thanks if anyone has one of these, as this is pretty much the only TV stand that I've seen which fits all of my needs and wants.

PS: I hope I posted this in the right area. Apologies if I didn't.

Figure each storage section is the same size and the upright pieces of wood are at most an inch thick each it should be 18.33 inches wide.

59 3/4 across - 4 inches of wood = 55 / 3 = 18.33 inches wide per space.

I hear that and I was thinking the same thing. However, after looking at how they measured the width, I'm pretty sure the 59 3/4" counts the side moulding that sticks out on the top, so who knows.

I mean, I would have to figure that they would know enough to make the sections at least 17" wide, since thats the width of many receivers, but who knows. Thats why I want confirmation before I buy it but I'm finding it impossible to find that confirmation.

If they have one on display bring a tape measure.

No local stores have it in stock or on the showroom floor.

I'll figure it out eventually...somehow.

Support at Tech-Craft emailed me back and told me that the compartments were each 18 3/16". So it seems they are wide enough to handle the average 17" wide receiver. If I order this thing, I'll update this thread after verifying that the compartments are really that wide, just incase anyone else does a search for the ABS60.

Any updates on the interior measurements?
I am also looking to get this stand. Overstock has it for $299 + $1 shipping. You can find 10% coupon codes online, so that brings it down to $270.

The cheapest I found for a stand like this is from Ashley furniture for $199, but the measurement for the side cabinet is only 15 inch or so, and the middle section is divided into a shelf and a drawer, so there's not really a lot of room for more than 1 or 2 A/V components.

I did end up buying the abs60. Overall, I am very happy. Each compartment is exactly 18" wide. Most A/V receivers are about 17" so it is wide enough. Mine is 17" and it fits no problem. A little snug on the sides, but its ok.

The stand is that pressed wood stuff, so its not like this is a high end piece, but it looks pretty nice. If you hit a corner on the floor during assembly (which I did) its going to get a little messed up.

The wood is black, with brown colored "distress" marks. However the marks are not indented into the wood, its just like brown coloring, if that makes sense. Essentially the wood is totally smooth to the touch.

The glass doors do a nice job of killing most of my xbox 360 noise. Also, there is ventilation in the form of wire holes. You could cut bigger holes if you wanted to.

Assembly was annoying but tolerable. Took about 2 hours by myself.

Hope this helps.

If anyone is looking for a wood cabinet type stand, I ordered the Tech Craft ABS60 from sears.com for $260 shipped/tax. It is only available online. They gave me 10% off for buying a TV from them (which I never did.) Big river sells it for $323 shipped. Racks&stands $303 shipped.

I've had it a couple of months and I have no complaints. Most people like the way it looks. Like I said though, be careful putting it together. It is pressed wood so it can get damaged somewhat easily. Also, putting the doors on and getting them on perfectly can be a little tricky. You can sorta "tweak" them by turning some screws. Hard to explain, but if you buy it, you'll see what i mean.

As far as funtionality and compartments, it has more than any other TV stand I researched in this class, and I searched thousands online.

I also ended up buying it around X-mas time. And so far has been pretty happy with it. I bought it from Sears and have it shipped to my house. It's pretty heavy. Most of the parts arrived nicely, except for the top piece, which has some travel scratches. But that's no problem at all because the website lets you order a replacement parts for those that are damaged during shipping. I ended up ordering a replacement part for the top piece and it arrived within 3 days.

Assembly is also pretty straight forward -- you don't have to be a rocket scientist, but an extra pair of hand really does help. I'm not a big fan of the "distress mark". I'd rather have it all black if I could choose, but for the price, compared to other credenza-style stand, I'm not complaining. Once assembled, the stand is VERY heavy, which is good for sturdiness, but kind of a hassle if you need to install or un-install your equipments. I ended up not using the back cover for ease of access and ventilation. Once you have your equipments in, you can't even see it not installed.

Tips for buying from Sears: If the item you want to buy does not have free shipping and cannot be picked up from your local store, you can come to the store, and place a web order. Just go to one of the sales person and tell him/her that you want to place a web order. They can place the order and send it to your home for FREE! I ended up buying mine for $200 and some change.

I am in the process of buying a HDTV.
I needed to upgrade my TV cabinet.
One of the problem is, I have an old Stereo Its mostly the height is 13"

From what I have gathered, it would fit in this? I am planning on not putting the shelf in one of the sides. I also not sure if I'm going to put the two doors on, but not sure how that would look.
can you confirm how big (H, W, L) the cabinet area is?
Thanks

After some intense digging around, I found this spec sheet. I also took the liberty of hosting it on my own website to avoid ending up with a broken link in the future. You're welcome. Please note that I think they got the measurements for the "taking into account the doors / hinges" part backwards!

I also found this similar unit at a few places called the Prepac Ferentino. Comes in a few colors, and also has a more angular bottom. Looks to be a little more expensive though ($299). Anyone had experience with either of these?

I did notice the Prepac, that was actually the one I was going to get. (Seem to have about the same measurements.)

But then I found the Tech-Craft ABS60 which seems to be a little better price. (Give or take shipping price).

Thanks for the Measurements. I think I did see this. But I can't remember which Stand it was for (the old one or the new one).

I ended up going with the Prepac Ferentino one

In the end it was pretty close in price. The Tech-Craft ABS60 one I kept seeing a little brown, and a couple of reviews said there was a small amount of brown in some of the fake wood I guess. Nothing really that bad. But the Prepac seemed to be more pure black. The only real difference I can see is the legs.
